Lansinoh Breast Pump Assembly

Overall, this pump is fairly simple to assemble. Most of our moms testers found that the pump was easy to install and disassemble, but one of them thought that the instruction manual was just somewhat easy to follow. One of our mom’s testers was especially liked how much of the pump worked together, and she could see how it was going to take care of sterilization and cleaning.

The Signature Pro Manual includes a quick start guide to help moms who need a refresh on how to set up their pump in a snap (Note: it’s important to read the entire manual before starting to use your new pump to ensure proper and safe use). Most of our mom’s testers decided that they were able to continue using the pump relatively easily. One tester found that there were more components than she used to do for other engines, and would often fail to use them in her setup. The same tester also reported that the bottles and lids supplied with the pump did not have a strong seal for storage.

Lansinoh Breast Pump User Comfort:

All of our mom’s testers decided that they were able to use The Lansinoh Signature Pro without any pain. Just one tester said it was a little difficult to find a good pumping position; the others found it good. One of our mom’s testers with flat / inverted nipples considered Signature Pro to be very easy to use and showed no discomfort when using it. The ComfortFit Flange (breast shield) lived up to its name: all of our moms agreed that the 25 mm flange felt soft and secure against their breasts, and none of them had any problems with the thickness. However, if needed, you can also choose to get a bigger flange, since Lansinoh also provides a wider 30.5 mm flange.

Lansinoh Breast Pump Pumping:

The Lansinoh Signature Pro Double Electric Breast Pump provides a personalized pumping experience with eight suction rates for each of the three pumping modes (including a fast, easy sucking pattern, a mild sucking pattern and a long, slow sucking pattern).

All of our moms enjoyed having the option to choose a pumping style and agreed that it was easy enough to set up the pump. We like how all this detail is clearly shown on the backlit LCD screen of the pump and how it is operated by five easy buttons (the on / off switch, the down / express button toggle , plus and minus suction controls). One of our mom’s testers liked that the LCD panel had a timer so she didn’t have to keep an eye on the clock to see how long she’d been pumping — a function she found especially helpful at night.

None of our moms had any problems getting a proper seal between the flange and their breasts. Some said they had intermittent leaks across the breast shield while pumping, but the leaks were identified as dribbling to a few drops once or twice. All of our mom’s tests find it easy enough to empty bottles without spilling any milk. None of our testers confirmed leakage around the bottles while pumping.

All of our moms have found it easy to adjust the suction levels while pumping. However, one mom felt that the pump suction could have been stronger overall, so she realized that her breasts were not completely drained after pumping. This is a concern you have to be aware of because you could end up with blocked ducts and/or mastitis if your breasts aren’t properly drained. It’s important to remember that blocked ducts can happen with any pump, or even with breastfeeding alone. All the other pumping moms reported that their breasts had been drained after a pumping session.

No other testers reported nipple pain, cracking or bleeding.

Like several other dual electric pumps, the Lansinoh Signature Pro Double Electric Breast Pump can be used as a single pump. To do so, simply cut one of the 300 mm tubes from the Y connector and put the plug in place. None of our participants had any problemextracting just from one breast at the time.

Lansinoh Breast Pump Noise

Of all the double electric pumps that our mpms tested, the Signature Pro was the quietest, and all but one of our testers described the noise level as “not very loud.” Only one mom felt that they could not pump in the same room as a sleeping baby or a sleeping partner without waking them up.

Lansinoh Breast Pump Cleaning

The pump is built to avoid milk from reaching the pipeline, so I find it easy to clean Signature Pro by hand or in a dishwasher. (Note: As with any pump, review the manuals on the parts are suitable for the dishwasher.)

Only one mom tester thought that the six parts of the pump were more than they were meant for washing, but considered the parts easy enough to clean enough that it wasn’t a deal-breaker. None of our parent testers found some condensation in the tubing during washing.

Lansinoh Breast Pump Design

The Lansinoh Signature Pro Double Electric Breast Pump is one of the lightest double electric breast pumps that has been given the Today’s Parent Certified Seal. The pump comes with its own tote bag for safety and transport. Most of our mom have considered the pump lightweight and the power buttons easy to use.

The vast majority of our mom testers found that Signature Pro packed nicely and was easy to use when away from home. One mom especially loved being able to use the battery pump, making it much more compact. Although one tester thought that the pump needed a ton of batteries (six AAs) to run off unplugged, those who used the batteries found it easy to connect.
